Anime And Manga Questions

Anime And Manga
Is the manga/anime industry good for jobs right now in japan?

hi im 16, I can draw anime/manga pretty well and its my dream to be animator out in japan. Is it any good out there, any self experiences are welcome?

Check it out boss. Anime/Manga (yes there is a difference) is actually doing pretty well. just look around if you need proof. book stores and comic shops, its growing and growing. more and more american productions are accessible because it is catching on. America (producers) have been sitting the sidelines for a bit to see if it was just a fad or if it is worth investing into…. they are starting more and more to invest.

to answer your question, most aspiring artists wish to go to Japan to draw/write manga/anime. this is a very common misconception. the truth is, it is difficult to break into the industry, as any industry for that matter. now if you move to japan, you add a whole challenging dynamic. new language, new culture, new rules of society and production and so forth. the truth is, you can probably be more successful if you stay in your home country and write. style and language aside, traditional and cultural references would be much better appreciated in your home country. if i wrote a title called chupacabra, or even simply referenced. some people in america probably know what it is. if, However, i did the same in Mexico, it would be instantaneously recognized… this is just one very easy example. i could go on for days about how the differences add up.

bottom line, as a tough industry, get your roots where you are familiar. there is no need to pack up and move, though Japan ROCKS!!!, you dont need to live there to do the same things you can do here easier.

hope this helps =)
